No matter our circumstances, our Founder + CEO, Ashli Montgomery, is determined to continue connecting with quilters all across the country!
Our goal is about spreading the word and sharing our mission: to connect the quilting world with the fight to end Alzheimer’s disease by creating a family of passionate quilters.
To make this happen, Quilt 2 End ALZ, Inc., is visiting quilt guilds and organizations all across the country…
Virtually, of course!
Due to COVID-19, Ashli has transitioned her presentation to Zoom for a live, online program and is currently filling the calendar for fall 2020 and throughout 2021. As we are able to transition back to in-person programming, Ashli will offer both virtual and in-person programs.
The Program
Ashli’s talks are a unique combination of lecture and trunk show, lasting 30-45 minutes with time for Q&A, and focus on three key topics:
- What is Alzheimer’s disease, and what can we do about it?
- How is Q2EA using quilting as a platform to encourage, educate, and support our quilting community as advocates to end ALZ?
- Who can get involved, and how do we help?
The trunk show highlights projects that our Q2EA family has created over the years as well as current fundraising projects.
Workshops
Ashli also loves leading workshops! During her online workshop, Ashli guides participants through making a Storytelling Tee™ topper using a combination of traditional, log cabin quilt blocks and t-shirt panels. This is Ashli’s signature design and finishes as a Sofa Snuggler™.
Storytelling Tees™ make fabulous gifts, and they’re the perfect way to enjoy sports, theater, or event t-shirts that tend to pile up on us! Here is an example of the workshop project using Maci‘s high school cheer tees and log cabins in navy, red, and purple. She gifted this one to her high school cheerleading coach at her senior banquet, and now it has a place of prominence on the sidelines every Friday night.
