Maci | Board Member
Maci is an advisory board member for Quilt 2 End ALZ, Incorporated.
She is a student at the University of Tulsa where she is studying Business Management with a specialization in Entrepreneurship and a minor in Media Studies. Maci is a member of the Golden Hurricane Coed Cheer Squad as well as an active member in the Delta Pi chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
In addition to a very busy school schedule, Maci loves to spend time working with and serving local philanthropies, baking, reading, crafting, practicing lettering, journaling and writing, and of course, sewing. She plans to merge these hobbies with her education by opening a boutique bakery after graduation. She especially enjoys dreaming and planning about how it will all come together some day!
Maci has seen first-hand what ALZ does to loved ones, watching it take her great grandmother and witnessing the effects it has on her grandmother who is currently living with the disease.
Recognizing an opportunity to educate her classmates through the Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, she became a staunch advocate to end Alzheimer’s disease during high school. Maci worked with school administrators to establish the “Cascia Hall Walk Club.” Through the club she was able to share information, raise funds and awareness, collaborate with other groups on campus to promote her cause, and bring students, teachers, and their families together to participate in their local Walk.
She then helped launch the Tulsa chapter of ALZ2, an initiative through the Alzheimer’s Association that provides opportunities for high school and college students to engage with the fight to end Alzheimer’s disease.
Maci is thrilled to continue this passionate work through Quilt 2 End ALZ!
