Ashli | Founder + CEO
Ashli Montgomery is the founder and CEO of Quilt 2 End ALZ, Incorporated.
She launched the non-profit on January 21, 2019, with the intention of using quilting as a platform to connect the fight to end Alzheimer’s disease with the quilting community.
Ashli saw parallels between quilters and people affected – either as caregivers, patients, neighbors, family, or friends – by ALZ. While there is a wonderful population of male quilters, by and large, the craft is made up of women; similarly, 2/3 of those diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, and 60% of all caregivers are women. Furthermore, Ashli saw a personality trend often found in both quilters and Alzheimer’s caregivers: both groups are people-centered, service-oriented, and have a high sense of duty.
Ashli feels that there is strength in numbers and that quilters have a strong voice; the more quilters she meets, the more effectively we can quilt to end Alzheimer’s disease.
In addition to her Q2EA work, Ashli writes wholesome and heartfelt, small-town romance novels under the pen name Virginia’dele Smith. Each of her books includes a thread of quilt, quilters, and quilting as well as a family facing Alzheimer’s disease with a loved one. If you like endearing characters, gripping love stories, and fun quilt fiction, you’ll definitely enjoy an escape to Green Hills!

When not writing or quilting, Ashli stays busy wearing lots of hats…she serves as the Board Chairman for the Alzheimer’s Association Oklahoma Chapter, is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Tulsa, and is a Past President of the National Charity League, Tulsa Midtown Chapter.
She is a 200-Hour Registered Yoga Alliance Instructor, an avid reader, and an aspiring chef.
Above all else, she is a wife and mother.
