Happy May, my fellow quilters!
I am exceptionally excited for summer to roll in with some warmer weather and it just so happens to be my birthday month! May’s block matches my mood perfectly, bringing to mind happy summer days with flowers and pinwheels spinning in the breeze.
Hopefully all those April showers are behind us and we can fully enjoy the May flowers beginning to bloom. As the days get longer, I’m finding it much easier to take things one stitch at a time. There’s just something about the shortened winter days that make me feel frantic to get things done, and once I do finish them I just want to crawl into bed. But all the extra hours of sunshine are here (especially here in New Mexico!) and I’m hoping to squeeze in some extra time with my machine.
For May we are back to making a 12”x12” block and this one has a few more pieces than the blocks we’ve made so far, so make sure you read through all the instructions before diving in. (You can also watch this month’s tutorial video and have Ashli walk you through making it step by step.)
