Happy Birthday…
…to us!
It’s been one year since we launched Quilt 2 End ALZ, Inc. and quite an incredible year.
It has been a year filled with all the tasks required to be a non-profit. We’ve filed official documents, incorporated with the state, registered our trademarks, and been designated a 501(c)(3) by the IRS.
It has been a year filled with determining who we want to be. We’ve chosen our “this, not that” identity. We’ve selected names, colors, and branding elements. We’ve solidified our mission. We’ve seen our vision. We’ve set goals for our future.
It has been a year filled with creating how we want to be. We’ve designed a website, started a blog, created a revenue platform for fundraising, and started a communication campaign to stay in touch with our audience.
It has been a year filled with doing what we love: quilting.
2019 was our “Year of the Log Cabin” so it’s been a year filled with fabric pulls, center squares, and strip piecing. We’ve enjoyed sewing traditional log cabins, modern log cabins, big log cabins, small log cabins, wonky log cabins, star log cabins, and our own creations of log cabins. We’ve learned about the history of log cabin blocks, and we’ve written our own history as we became Quilt 2 End ALZ.
Quite an incredible year, indeed!
We’ve spent our first year very engaged in the business of becoming a business, and now we are eager to engage with YOU.
We want to quilt with you, we want to hear your stories, and we want to support one another.
While we are engaging with the quilting world, we also want to encourage you to engage. With us and our battle cry to #ENDALZ, with your loved ones, and even with yourself.
We want to take time out – a pause – from the hectic, chaotic world in which we live to take a breath, be present, and build community.
This pause looks different for everyone.
For us, it means slowing the pace, sitting down, curling up with a good book, watching a good movie, visiting with a good friend.
It means taking a cup of tea to the couch to tackle some binding with your favorite music in the background or your kids chattering as they play.
It means cuddles in front of a warm fire.
And each one of these beautiful images includes a quilt.
Which brings me to our 2020 theme of the year!
This year, our focus will be…
Sofa Snugglers!
What’s better than snuggling on the sofa with a favorite quilt? One that you made yourself, or one that a loved one made for you?
What’s more rewarding than making a quilt for someone else to love and snuggle with at home?
Sofa snugglers are the perfect size – not too big and not too small.
They can be made from any fabric, any color, any design, and any pattern.
They’re fun to make and quick to finish.
So get ready to snuggle up, to quilt together, to get engaged in 2020.
We are very glad that you are here!

Thank you for all you do.❤❤❤. Lost my Mom to ALZ this past year. She taught my sister and I to sew so I was so happy when my daughter, also a quilter, sent me this link. I plan on purchasing the block and spreading the word. Thank you!!!

Thank you for sharing your story, and thank you for quilting with us! How wonderful that your mom taught you to sew and that you’ve shared her legacy with your daughter, too. We are so happy to quilt to end ALZ together!!
